Arrived in Nashville!
A little more about this trip - I am in Nashville for four days before recording the record for a work-related conference - this is one of the reasons I chose to do this record - because I'd already be in the city I had never been to and wanted to record in. And listen - Nashville is fantastic. So many highlights of my first 24 hours in this city:
- Meeting a local gentleman sitting next to me on the plane who told me about half a dozen places I can find delicious Nashville hot chicken.
- Eating Nashville hot chicken and realizing no one in Colorado knows how to make it right.
- Touring Black River Sound Stage and watching an up and coming songwriter named JP Burr record a new song with his band. And that dude was just great and super nice.
- Meeting Billy Montana, a songwriter who writes for country artists, and hearing about his career and how he has grown as a songwriter in his career.
- Getting stuck in a torrential downpour and finding shelter in front of a building that I came to realize was the Ryman Auditorium.
- Attending Christ Presbyterian Church Music Row. I always love attending other churches when I travel - prioritizing gathering with other believers in fellowship is such a bit part of my life as a Christian.
- Of course, reconnecting with some of my favorite people from around the country who I know through my "day job" world - enjoying their company and meeting new people.
My cup is full - here are a few pictures from just 24 hours here in Nashville - most of which have very little to do with the record, but all of which are contributing to an incredible week long experience that I'm excited to share with you.
